Optimal Maneuverability and Control

The reliable chain undercarriage takes advantage of the proven designs of Cat dump trucks and an automatic tensioning system to ensure consistent performance and longer chain life. The robust propulsion system includes two independent travel pumps that drive two chain tracks each, according to a high-traction cross-drive scheme. Thanks to the automatic traction control, speed remains constant in the most challenging applications. Four steering modes with advanced alignment and tracking ensure precise control of geometry and reduce wear on the pads. Ability to change rotor speeds electronically during operation.
Material Removal

High-capacity conveyors provide efficient removal of milled material with incredible dumping control. A single-piece and wide-opening conveyor belt effectively empties the rotor chamber. Adjust the speed of the conveyor belt according to the type of material and production flow, while the integrated boost functionality offers temporary acceleration of the conveyor belt speed to eject the material faster and farther. The direction of the conveyor belt can be reversed for easy cleaning, and vinyl magnetic protections allow quick access to inspect roller wear.

Durable cutting system

The rotor drive system includes an extra-strong dry clutch, an automatic belt tensioning system to prevent slipping, and two high-strength belts (with five ribs) to drive the rotor. Reinforced cutting chamber for longer life. Improved access simplifies rotor replacements. Full-length side plate hardened skis, onboard ski pad, and anti-fracture pads reduce wear and maintenance.
Rotors System

The K System Cat rotors ensure efficient material flow with an excellent cutting profile for many applications. Conical design with double retention securely locks the tool holders in place without a retention axis, bolt, or adjustment screw for faster replacement without attachments and without torque tightening. Reversible blades and ultra-resistant alloys reduce wear and abrasion, for increased rotor lifespan. Optional diamond tips allow for replacement intervals up to 80 times longer than traditional carbide tips.

Easy Maintenance

Maintenance is simplified and faster thanks to large access doors and an electric hood that provides very easy access to crucial components. Maintenance-free chain components and easy-to-replace chain pads reduce maintenance costs. Standard ground-level controls and an optional hydraulically operated rotor rotation device with suspended control simplify the removal and replacement of tips. Optional high and low-pressure washing options connect to the onboard water tank for convenient cleaning. Use certain machine functions during maintenance and servicing thanks to the auxiliary drive system. The electrical circuit wiring is color-coded and numbered for easy identification. It is also protected by an abrasion-resistant nylon braid, ensuring increased lifespan. Extended hydraulic oil maintenance intervals: 3,000 hours without oil sampling, 6,000 hours with oil sampling. Planned chain maintenance with Cat Product Link™ telematics services. Electronic Control Modules (ECMs) monitor machine circuits to alert the operator of performance issues. They can be paired with Product Link options to activate additional remote services from your local Cat dealer. Environmentally friendly, multi-component cartridge engine filters reduce waste and lower replacement costs. Optimal parts availability, conveniently located dealers, and maintenance repair kits simplify ordering of high-wear components.
