Performance and Productivity

Greater precision of commands compared to the 326D2. 5% reduction in fuel consumption without loss of productivity with SMART mode. 12% higher torque for easier work on slopes. Up to 45% increase in operational efficiency thanks to standard Cat technologies that reduce driver fatigue and operating costs, including fuel consumption and daily maintenance. The C7.1 Engine can run on biodiesel up to B20 and complies with the following emission standards: Chinese Stage III for non-road engines, UN-ECE R96 Stage IIIA, and Brazilian MAR-1, equivalent to the US EPA Tier 3/European Stage IIIA standard. The advanced hydraulic system provides the optimal balance of power and efficiency while giving you the necessary control to meet precise excavation needs. Adapt the hydraulic excavator to the task with power modes; Smart mode automatically adjusts engine and hydraulic power to excavation conditions. Optional Advansys™ bucket tips improve penetration and cycle times. They can be quickly replaced using a simple wheel nut wrench, without the need for a hammer or special tool, improving safety and increasing productive time. Auxiliary hydraulic options ensure the versatility required to use a wide range of Cat equipment. Don't let temperature be a barrier to work. The hydraulic excavator offers a high ambient temperature capacity as standard, with derating at 52 °C (125 °F) and cold start capability at -18 °C (0 °F). An optional cold start package at -32 °C (-25 °F) is available.
A Technology That Helps You Perform Your Work

Gain up to 45% productivity compared to traditional leveling thanks to the Cat Grade 2D function equipped as standard (with For Information mode and laser functionality). Standard Grade Assist: ensure precise, simple, and effortless leveling with single-lever excavation. Set the desired bucket tilt and let the Bucket Assist function automatically maintain the angle during grading, simple and precise leveling, or excavation work. With Boom Assist, keep the tracks on the ground during lifting and excavation operations on hard terrain. Automatically stop the hydraulic excavator's rotation at points defined by the operator during truck loading and trenching applications with the Swing Assist function, which will help you exert less effort and consume less fuel. Standard Cat Payload helps you achieve precise target loads to improve operational efficiency. Pick up a load of material, with a bucket or grapple or with a grapple and half-shell bucket, and get a real-time weight estimate without even rotating. Combine Payload with VisionLink® and remotely manage your production goals. The installation file can now be downloaded to a USB key. Upgrade the system to Cat Grade with Advanced 2D module (optional): easily create and modify grading plans on a second high-resolution 254 mm (10 in) touchscreen monitor. Looking for a 3D system for better excavation results? Caterpillar's new single-antenna Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) simplifies this by providing visual and audio guidance on the slope. Plus, you can create and modify designs on the touchscreen during your work. If your application requires a dual-antenna system, the upgrade is quite simple. Switch to a dual-antenna GNSS system for maximum leveling efficiency. The system allows you to create and modify designs on the touchscreen during work; your plan design can also be sent to the hydraulic excavator to make your job easier. You also benefit from the added value of avoid zone, cut and fill mapping, lane guidance, and augmented reality functions, as well as advanced positioning. All Cat Grade systems are compatible with Trimble, Topcon, and Leica radios and base stations. Have you already invested in leveling infrastructure? You can install Trimble, Topcon, and Leica leveling systems on the machine. The remote troubleshooting function puts you in touch with a dealer's after-sales service professional to help you solve your problem and get back to work quickly. Remote updates monitor your activities to ensure that your machine's software is up to date and provides optimal performance.
Best Working Comfort

Choose between the Comfort and Deluxe cabins, both equipped with an automatic temperature control system (check with your local dealer for availability in your region). The Comfort cabin is equipped with a mechanical suspension seat. The Deluxe seat is heated and ventilated. Advanced viscous mounting brackets reduce cabin vibrations by up to 50% compared to previous hydraulic excavator models. Effortlessly maneuver the hydraulic excavator using easily accessible controls located in front of you. Store all your equipment inside the cabin with large storage spaces behind and under the seat, overhead, and in the consoles. A cup holder, bottle holder, and coat hook are also provided. Use Bluetooth® technology and the standard-equipped radio's USB ports to connect your personal devices and make hands-free calls.
Easy To Use

Start the engine via a push button or the unique driver ID function. Program the desired power mode and manipulator preferences using the user ID; the hydraulic excavator will memorize your settings and reapply them for all your subsequent jobs. Simplify machine operation with a single click of a manipulator button. Additional auxiliary relays allow you to power on or off a CB radio, beacon light, and even a dust suppression system by watering, without ever letting go of the manipulator (available on Deluxe cab only). Navigate quickly through the standard 203 mm (8 in) high-resolution touchscreen monitor or the optional 254 mm (10 in) touchscreen monitor (Deluxe cab only) using the control dial. Not sure how a function works or how to maintain the hydraulic excavator? Make sure to always have the operator's manual at your fingertips on the touchscreen monitor. The Cat PL161 Equipment Locator is a Bluetooth device that allows you to quickly and easily find your accessories and other equipment. The Cat app on your phone automatically detects the device's location. Need more lifting force during your work? Activate the automatic heavy lift and get an 8% power increase precisely when and for as long as you need it. Tiltrotator equipment, whether Cat or other brands, works perfectly with Cat 2D Grade, Assist, Payload, and the electronic barrier. No additional hardware is required, you simply need to select "Third Party Tiltrotator System Installation" on the monitor, perform calibration, and get to work.
Integrated Security Features

Lifting assistance prevents you from tipping over. Thanks to visual and audible warnings, you will know if your load respects the limits of the secure working range of the hydraulic excavator. Access 100% of daily maintenance points at ground level (there is no need for you to climb onto the hydraulic excavator). The standard ROPS (Rollover Protective Structure) cabin complies with ISO 12117-2:2008. Cat Detect - Person Detection protects the most valuable resources on construction sites, people. The system uses intelligent cameras with depth sensors to provide drivers with visual and audible warnings, so they can take quick action when a person is too close to the hydraulic excavator. Benefit from excellent visibility in the trench, in every orientation, and behind you with smaller cabin pillars, larger windows, and a flat engine hood. Improve job site safety by adding Cat Command to your fleet. The remote control system comes with everything you need (WIFI radio, cameras, and microphone) to work outside the cabin and avoid potential hazards. The standard hydraulic safety lever inhibits all hydraulic and travel functions when in the lowered position. When activated, the ground-level shutdown switch cuts off fuel supply to the engine and stops the machine. The 2D electronic barrier prevents the hydraulic excavator from exiting defined points set by the operator; the system is compatible with combinations of clamp and bucket, as well as hammer, grapple, and half-shell equipment. A rear and right-side camera* are installed as standard. Upgrade the system to 360° visibility and easily see objects and personnel around the hydraulic excavator at a glance. The new right-side maintenance platform allows easy, safe, and quick access to the upper maintenance platform. Its steps are covered with a non-slip perforated plate to prevent slipping. Optional boom and arm lowering check valves prevent flow reversal, thus keeping your front linkage in place in case of unexpected hydraulic circuit power loss. Colored seat belts make it easy to check if safety precautions are properly followed. Simplify and secure maintenance work with optional inspection lighting. Simply activating a switch allows you to illuminate the engine, pump, battery, and radiator compartments for better visibility. Improve job site safety. Add an orientation alarm to warn colleagues when transitioning from trenching to backfilling and vice versa. * Not available as standard in certain regions.
