More Tasks With Less Fuel
Get up to 25% higher energy efficiency than the hydraulic excavator 349D2 Tier 3 in similar applications. The C9.3B engine complies with MAR-1 emission standards in Brazil and Stage III for non-road engines in China, equivalent to the Tier 3 EPA standard in the United States and the European Stage IIIA standard. Adapt the hydraulic excavator to the work to be done with two power modes. The Smart mode automatically adjusts the engine and hydraulic power to excavation conditions, providing maximum power when needed and reducing power when not necessary to save fuel. The advanced hydraulic circuit offers the optimal balance of power and efficiency while giving you the necessary control to meet precise excavation needs. The priority valve sends hydraulic pressure and flow where you want it to go for accelerated light to moderate load cycle times. Advansys bucket tips improve penetration and cycle times. They can be quickly replaced using a simple wheel nut wrench, without the need for a hammer or special tool, which improves safety and increases productive time. Add an auxiliary hydraulic circuit to be more productive with various Cat equipment. Product Link™ is provided as standard so you can remotely monitor the machine's status, location, operating hours, and fuel consumption on demand via the VisionLink® online interface.
Designed to be Performant
Work up to 3000m (10830ft) above sea level. The standard high ambient temperature capability is 52°C (125°F) with a cold start capability of -18°C (0°F). Automatic preheating of the hydraulic oil accelerates cold weather starting and helps extend component life. An advanced filtration system protects the engine from dirty diesel fuel. Grease retained between the pins and bushings of the chain reduces noise and prevents debris from entering to extend the life of the undercarriage. Standard integrated protection includes extra-strong lower guard, travel motor protection, and pivot protection. The inclined carrier frame prevents mud and debris buildup, reducing the risk of chain damage.

The standard automatic air conditioning keeps you at the ideal temperature throughout the day. Advanced viscous mounting brackets reduce cabin vibrations by up to 50% compared to previous hydraulic shovel models. Benefit from ample storage space for your equipment inside the cabin, under and behind the seat, as well as in the consoles. Use the USB ports of the radio and the standard Bluetooth® technology to connect your personal devices.
Easy to Maneuver
Start the engine with a push button; use a Bluetooth keychain or a user ID access code. Program the desired power mode and manipulator preferences with the driver's identifier; the hydraulic excavator will remember your settings for all your future work. Protect your hammer from excessive use. The hammer's automatic stop function warns you after 15 seconds of continuous priming, then automatically stops the hammer after 30 seconds, preventing premature wear of the attachment and hydraulic excavator. Navigate quickly on the standard 203 mm (8 inch) high-resolution touch screen monitor or using the control knob. The Cat locator is a Bluetooth device that allows you to quickly and easily find your accessories and other equipment. The hydraulic excavator's built-in Bluetooth reader or the Cat app on your phone automatically detect the device's location. Not sure how a function works or how to maintain the hydraulic excavator? Make sure to always have the driver's manual at your fingertips on the touch screen monitor. Moving the hydraulic excavator is even easier with Cat arm steering. Just press a button and use one hand to move forward and turn instead of using both hands on levers or both feet on pedals.
Reduced Maintenance and Upkeep
Expect up to 35% savings on maintenance costs compared to the 349D2 Tier 3 hydraulic excavator model, thanks to longer and synchronized maintenance intervals and lower fluid quantities (savings calculated over 12,000 machine operating hours). Easily check the oil in the hydraulic circuit and drain water from the fuel circuit from ground level. Monitor the filter lifespan and maintenance intervals of your hydraulic excavator through the monitor inside the cabin. Using genuine Cat oils and filters and performing S∙O∙S type monitoring allows you to double the current maintenance interval up to 1,000 hours and provides you with more productive time to complete the job. The oil and fuel filters are grouped together and located on the right side of the machine for easy maintenance. The new air intake filter with pre-filter has double the dirt retention capacity compared to the previous air intake filter. The new hydraulic oil filter offers better filtration performance, as well as check valves to keep the oil perfectly clean when the filter is replaced. Additionally, its lifespan is extended and its replacement interval is 3,000 hours (50% longer than previous filter designs). The SOS ports are located at ground level, simplifying maintenance and allowing for quick and easy sampling of liquid for analysis purposes.
Integrated Security Features
Secure your hydraulic excavator with the user ID. Use your PIN code on the monitor to activate the start function via a push button. The standard ROPS (Rollover Protective Structure) cabin complies with ISO 12117-2:2008. A travel direction indicator allows drivers to know which direction to activate the translation levers. When activated, the ground-level stop switch interrupts the fuel supply to the engine and stops the machine. Benefit from great visibility on the trench, in every orientation, and behind you with smaller cabin pillars and larger windows. The serrated steps and non-slip plate on the maintenance platform help prevent slipping. A rear vision camera is included as standard.
