Optimize performance

Each Cat engine compliant with Tier 4 Final/Stage V standard is equipped with a set of proven components for electronic, fuel, air, and after-treatment circuits. Optimization of availability and cost reduction, with world-class support offered by the Cat dealer network. Reduction of the impact of emission systems: designed to be completely transparent to the driver without requiring intervention. Superior fuel savings and reduced maintenance costs while providing the same power and responsiveness. Advanced mechanically controlled electronic unit injectors (MEUI-C) provide higher injection pressures and improve injection rate accuracy. These durable injectors enhance responsiveness while controlling soot levels. All Cat engines are equipped with innovative air management systems that optimize air flow for more power, efficiency, and reliability. The Cat Nitrogen Oxide Reduction System (NRS) captures and cools a small amount of exhaust gas, then redirects it into the combustion chamber to lower combustion temperatures and NOx emissions. Cat engines are equipped with a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system that injects Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) into the exhaust stream to reduce NOx emissions. DEF is a blended solution composed of 32.5% high-purity chemical urea and 67.5% deionized water.
Automatic commands

The Advanced Automatic Traction Control (AATC) proactively applies axle differential locks and inter-axle locks "on the fly", allowing operators to freely focus on driving/loading/unloading maneuvers. Sensors monitor the machine's speed and wheels, enabling instant reaction when there is high rolling resistance. The operation is continuous and smooth, eliminating wheel slippage for optimal traction and productivity. The clutches are automatically disengaged if the nature of the ground allows it, maximizing efficiency when steering or operating on rough terrain. The AATC also reduces stress on tires and the powertrain, eliminating machine efficiency losses due to incorrect manual use of differential clutches and reducing tire wear. The automatic retarder control automates the use of the retarder for the driver. Like the AATC, many aspects of machine operation are monitored. If necessary, the engine compression brake is automatically engaged to control the machine's speed when going downhill. The system can help eliminate engine overspeed, improving safe machine use and reducing cycle times while offering the flexibility of manual control if needed. The new assisted lifting control automates the unloading function. Press the new lift/lower switch for the machine to apply the parking brake, shift the transmission to neutral, and raise the bucket to the required engine speed. Lowering the tipping bucket is done in the same way; press the switch for the machine to lower the bucket and put it in the free position."""
Extra-strong construction

The three axles promote stability thanks to oscillating A-frame chassis with lateral tie rods. You can work at speeds that ensure your productivity with confidence while virtually eliminating impact loads on the dump truck components. The front suspension oscillates under the control of large-bore, low-pressure cylinders to provide a smoother ride. An A-frame with lateral tie rod controls lateral movement and helps stabilize the axle. The rear suspension features a step and long-life suspensions that optimize driving and load retention. A new fully undercarriage-mounted oil bath disc brake system prevents the introduction of polluting substances, extending the machine's lifespan and increasing its uptime. Hill start assist reduces the risk of rollback on slopes. If the operator stops the machine on a slope, the machine automatically maintains the parking brake for a few seconds when the parking brake pedal is released to prevent the machine from rolling backwards. The hold brake system applies the parking brake when the transmission is in neutral, allowing for simple and quick control of the machine within the loading or unloading area.
Mastery and driving comfort

A spacious cabin ensures the driver's comfort throughout their shift in a 7dB quieter environment than the previous model. A combined lifting/transmission lever improves cycle times by reducing control movements. The trainer/passenger seat is fully padded, with a wide retractable seat belt ensuring safety and comfort. The redesigned and spacious side storage compartment is heated or air-conditioned by the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system according to the driver's preferences. The pneumatic suspension seat offers better comfort and a wider range of adjustments. The front/rear insulation significantly reduces vibrations and shocks. Every operator will find the adjustment that suits them for a comfortable and controlled shift. The standard cooling/heating system ensures comfort in all circumstances. The optional four-point seat belt for the driver allows the operator to comfortably stay in position on all terrains. Thanks to the integrated panoramic dashboard, the driver has easy access to all indicators and controls of the machine. You will experience the same sensations as in a car, and have the industrial power you expect from Caterpillar. The redesigned touchscreen dashboard allows the driver to monitor and adjust various functions related to the machine's condition and performance, as well as machine warning categories. These include configuration settings, driver and machine totals, maintenance information, various machine status parameters, machine payload information (if applicable), stabilization system, and rear vision camera video. Make and receive calls in the cabin via the optional Bluetooth™ entertainment system.
Designed to be efficient

Front chassis with oversized compartments for high resistance to stress. Chassis design reduces stress at the joint and optimizes suspension geometry. Rear chassis with double compartments reduces stress points and improves durability. The articulated hitch ensures the direction of the dump truck by articulating the chassis, while oscillation ensures ground contact of all wheels on rough surfaces. The field-proven two-part articulation structure includes a cast steel head bolted to a wear-resistant forged steel tube. The design of the tipping body provides a large receiving surface that constantly ensures a high load capacity and therefore better productivity. The divergent flow during unloading facilitates the expulsion of materials, thus optimizing productivity and avoiding incomplete emptying of the body. The transfer case distributes power between the tractor and the trailer. It includes a wet clutch differential lock for optimal traction on unfavorable terrain. The full-power hydraulic braking system operates the oil-bath multidisc and multiplate brakes with independent front and rear circuits and accumulators. This dual-circuit braking system on all wheels provides the required braking performance for maximum productivity. The spring and hydraulic release parking brake is mounted on the elevated central axle.
Because productive time matters

Design, manufacturing, and customer service from Caterpillar ensure exceptional performance and availability. Long maintenance intervals keep your machine in operation. Lubrication points are grouped near the joint for easy and quick maintenance. Universal joints are sealed and lubricated for long-lasting durability. The optional automatic lubrication system saves you time and includes alerts via Product Link for low grease levels and abnormalities. The radiator unit is located behind the cabin, protecting it, and uses long-life coolant to extend drain intervals. The electrical service center is located in the cabin and provides an electrical port, diagnostic connector, and Cat data link connector to be used with a laptop equipped with Electronic Technician (ET) software. The tilting cabin and access panel provide easy access to the transmission, drive shafts, hydraulic pumps, and electrical and hydraulic interfaces. Convenient maintenance points are located on the left side of the engine, under the electric lift hood. Comprehensive customer support is the goal of your Cat dealer. From product selection advice, operating costs, operation and maintenance, to replacement or rebuild decisions, your dealer is by your side.

Other sustainable development features

Caterpillar designs and operates with respect for the environment. The Cat C18 Engine, which incorporates the Cat Clean Emissions Module (CEM), meets EPA Tier 4 Final/Stage IV emissions standards. The system uses both ultra-low-sulfur diesel (ULSD) or B20 biodiesel blended with ULSD. All Cat C Series Articulated Trucks are designed for long life cycles with machines using remanufactured components and renovations to optimize each part and minimize waste. The volume of hydraulic oil and engine oil circuits has been reduced, thereby reducing the amount of waste when replacing oils.
