The strong swing torque easily handles shifting loads, uneven terrain, and constant high-impact connections, allowing operators to work quickly and precisely. Did you know that deflectors help increase the strength-to-weight ratio of a hydraulic excavator? That’s why Caterpillar incorporates deflectors in high-stress areas like the boom, stick, and frame. The 350 comes equipped with a keyless push-button engine start system. Machine security is enhanced through the use of operator ID codes, which help limit and track access. Codes can be entered manually or via an optional Bluetooth key fob. Most machine settings are managed through the high-resolution touchscreen monitor. It supports multiple languages and is easily accessible from the seat—no need for the operator to lean or twist. A second 254 mm (10 in) monitor is available for Cat® Grade and Cat® Grade with 3D module. You can simplify machine operation with a single press of a joystick button. Joystick functions are customizable through the monitor. Joystick pattern and response can be tailored to operator preferences. \*All preferences are saved to the operator ID and restored upon login. Moving the excavator is even easier with Cat® Stick Steer. Press a button and use one hand to drive and turn, rather than both hands on levers or both feet on pedals. The standard Lift Assist feature quickly calculates the actual lifted load and compares it to the rated load the machine can safely handle. Visual and audible alerts notify you if the load is within the safe working range or if immediate action is needed to prevent tipping. Enjoy excellent visibility to the trench, in all swing directions, and behind the machine—thanks to slim cab pillars, large windows, and a low-profile engine hood. Add a swing alarm to alert crew members when switching between trenching and stockpiling. Rearview and right-side cameras are standard. Upgrade to 360° visibility and get a single view of objects and people around the excavator at a glance. When activated, the ground-level shutoff switch cuts fuel to the engine and shuts the machine down. The right-hand service platform provides safe, quick, and easy access to the upper service area; its serrated steps and perforated anti-skid plate reduce slip hazards. The built-in vehicle condition management system alerts the operator with step-by-step service instructions and lists required parts—helping avoid unnecessary downtime. Track filter life and service intervals via the in-cab monitor. Accessible from the upper platform, engine oil and fuel filters are replaced at synchronized 1,000-hour intervals. The new hydraulic oil filter delivers improved filtration performance, includes anti-drain valves to keep oil clean during replacement, and offers an extended 3,000-hour service interval for greater efficiency and convenience. Extended-interval S·O·S℠ oil sampling ports are conveniently located at ground level, simplifying service and allowing quick, clean fluid sampling for analysis. Using genuine Cat® fluids and filters along with S·O·S monitoring can double the current service interval and increase uptime. The high-efficiency hydraulic fan offers an optional programmable automatic reverse function to keep cores free of debris—reducing the need for operator intervention.
