Compaction Width The eight 13/80 R20 rubber tires provide a compaction width of 2,090 mm (82") with a 25 mm (1") overlap. Flexible Ballast Ballast options include modular and non-modular steel, sand, and water. The modular steel weighs 6.5 metric tons (7.1 US tons) and can be easily added or removed through the articulated side panels. The non-modular internal steel weighs 6.1 metric tons (6.7 US tons). The 3 m3 (793 gal) water-tight chamber with compartments and deflectors further prevents overflow and balances the weight. Oscillating Wheels The oscillating wheels at the front and rear provide the necessary vertical and horizontal forces to reduce air pockets and ensure a uniform surface.
