The underground AD45 CAT® dump truck offers the power, performance, and reliability you expect from the AD45 range. However, the latest model also features an advanced engine compliant with the European Stage V standard and an after-treatment solution that meets the strictest emission standards, significantly reducing your carbon footprint and improving air quality in your mine. Additionally, an adaptable kit is also available to allow you to retrofit it to the previous model, the AD45B, and make it compliant with the same strict standards. This ultra-clean diesel machine delivers superior productivity through its optimal combination with the next-generation Cat R1700 underground loader and its advanced technology offering features that enhance productivity, availability, and safety for operators and personnel on the site.

Security
Driver presence detection system, which protects the machine and the driver against uncontrolled movements of the machine, with hydraulic circuit neutralization and door sensor. Optional rear and cabin loading cameras, plus an additional camera mounted on the right side to improve visibility on the model compliant with the European Stage V standard. Safer access and exit, thanks to non-slip surfaces on the platform, handrails on the platform, 3-point access to the cabin and machine. Four-wheel braking system, cooled by oil, which ensures excellent vehicle control, with maneuvering brake operated by hydraulic pressure modulation, spring-loaded parking function and hydraulic release to ensure braking in the event of a hydraulic pressure loss incident. Safer maintenance thanks to locking of the steering frames, bin retention segments, firewall partition and protection against thermal emissions, hydraulic articulation hoses equipped with splash protection sleeves, tailgate retention segments (ejector bin), hot and cold sides of the engine.
Mastering and Driving Comfort
The location of controls, levers, switches, and instruments has been designed to optimize the driver's productivity and reduce fatigue. The optional soundproof ROPS cabin provides a quiet, safe, comfortable, and air-conditioned working environment with fresh, pressurized, and temperature-controlled air circulation. Ergonomic, the fully adjustable suspension seat with thick cushions reduces pressure on the lower back and thighs, seat belts with retractors that offer comfortable and safe restraint. The comfortable steering wheel with tilt steering allows for a comfortable driving position, secure grip, and better control. The Roll-Over Protective Structure (ROPS) and Falling Object Protective Structure (FOPS) frames are resiliently mounted to the chassis to isolate the driver from vibrations, for a more comfortable driving experience.
Performance and Productivity
Payload weighing system for dump trucks, which automatically records load cycle information when the load is dumped; drivers thus have real-time loading data that they can sort for download. The Automatic Retarder Control (ARC) electronically controls braking on slopes to maintain optimal engine speeds for faster downhill travel and increased productivity. Single-stage dump cylinders ensure fast dumping cycles (16 seconds for lifting and 21 seconds for lowering).
Power and Efficiency
C18 Cat engine, which is characterized by efficient fuel management for minimal response time and high productivity, not to mention its exceptional lifespan. The torque reserve adapts to gear shift points to ensure maximum efficiency and fast cycle times. The lock-up torque converter combines maximum effort at the rim with the torque converter take-up, with the efficiency and performance of a direct drive when the lock-up clutch is engaged. The high-pressure direct injection fuel system, equipped with electronically controlled mechanical unit injector pumps (MEUI™), electronically monitors driver requests and sensor inputs to optimize engine performance and fuel combustion. The Cat seven-speed Powershift transmission, combined with the C18 Cat direct injection engine, ensures constant power over a wide range of speeds.
Dumpsters
Cat bins designed for optimal power, capacity, and longevity. Designed and adapted to the machine's integrated chassis, ensuring reliability, strength, and a longer lifespan. Two types of Cat bins, tipping bins and ejector bins, achieve the most efficient transportation system at the lowest cost per tonne. The ejector bin can now be easily dropped off and a tipping bin can be installed for added versatility.
Easy Maintenance
Access from the ground to all tanks, filters, lubrication points, and compartment drains; remote-mounted fuel filters for easier maintenance; liquid level gauges. Radial seal air filters that are easy to replace, reducing the time required for air filter maintenance. Electrical connectors that are dust and moisture resistant, harnesses covered by protection, and wires that are color-coded and numbered for easy diagnosis and repairs. ET Cat electronic device, which allows for quick electronic diagnostics of machine performance and provides essential diagnostic data for efficient maintenance and repairs. Cat Electronic Monitoring System (EMS Cat), which provides continuous access to important machine data so it can continue to operate at high levels.
Intelligent electronic systems
Smooth shifting and extended component lifespan, with automatic control of the accelerator, allowing for regulation of the engine speed, torque converter lockup, and transmission clutch engagement. Reduced fuel consumption, noise levels, and potential increase in engine lifespan, thanks to the economical shifting mode. Less machine damage due to management of direction changes, which regulates the engine speed to avoid high-speed direction changes. Additionally, the shift limiter with raised bucket prevents the transmission from exceeding a preset gear ratio until the bucket is fully lowered. Protection against engine overspeed with the automatic retarder control, which applies the brakes when a dangerous engine speed is reached while the driver is pressing the accelerator pedal.
